Solar Electricity Design Course

Learn how to design and install Stand-alone and Grid Connected Solar Electricity Systems. The course consists of theoretical and practical sessions along with a number of site visits to working Solar Electric installations.
By the end of the course you will have covered:- How to calculate the power requirements for a Solar Electric installation.
- The optimum siting and alignment of solar modules.
- The different types of solar modules and the advantages and disadvantages of each.
- The different types of batteries and how to calculate the required battery bank size.
- Types of inverters.
- DC and AC wiring.
- Fuses
- Safe handling of batteries and equipment.
- Siting the equipment.
- Hybrid (Solar, Wind, Hydro) Systems
- System Design and Specifications.
- Grid Connected Inverters.
- Standards and Regulations pertaining to Solar Installations.
The course is run in Saint Laurent de Cerdans in the French Pyrenees. Saint Laurent de Cerdans is a traditional catalan village in the Vallespir region with breathtaking views and acres of natural forest. Located on the French-Spanish border, it has a long and colourful history, which along with its geography, makes a place well worth visiting.
The fee includes:Full board accommodation including two evening restaurant meals plus transport to and from the restaurants.
Transfers to and from pick-up points.
(Flights are available to Girona or Barcelona, Spain and Perpignan, France).
Those using Perpignan airport will be collected directly from the airport. Those arriving in Barcelona and Girona will need to find their own way to Figueres train station where transport will be provided.Transport will also be provided to all site visits.
Printed copies of the course material.
The cost of the course is 1200€ per person (1100€ if booked early). A deposit of 450€ (non-refundable) is to be paid upon registering for the course and the remaining 750€ / 650€ to be paid 14 days before the commencement of the course.
The course takes place over five days and includes theory and printed notes of the course, practical applications in a workshop environment and visits to existing solar energy sites in the district.

Don't even think about it, book this course! If you have ever wondered what is involved in putting together a solar installation and want to enjoy the beautiful Pyrenees, then this is the course to satisfy both.
